Activities of the Local Forum for Sustainable Development in North Sinai Governorate

Major General Dr. Khaled Magawer, Governor of North Sinai, hosted members of the Local Sustainable Development Forum in the governorate for an important community dialogue aimed at shaping a sustainable development vision. This dialogue is part of the activities under the “Local Sustainable Development Forums” initiative, launched by the Egyptian Forum for Sustainable Development with the support of the Ministries of Environment and Social Solidarity.

The Local Sustainable Development Forum in North Sinai has initiated coordination efforts with local leaders to prepare for a major community dialogue. This dialogue will bring together representatives from all relevant entities in the governorate, alongside stakeholders and experts from the Egyptian Sustainable Development Forum. The aim is to discuss the available opportunities in the governorate and how to invest in them sustainably, contributing to the development of a vision that encourages sustainable action with the participation of all concerned parties.

In a significant step, Major General Dr. Maghawar met with members of the Local Sustainable Development Forum of North Sinai on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The meeting involved discussions on the draft agenda and the important issues to be highlighted. This dialogue is scheduled to take place in November under the Governor’s patronage.
